First watch auctioned off with a digital diary
Occasion to end the auction
The New Year began with a special campaign: the first watch to be auctioned off with a digital diary.
The DBF007-10-04 recounts the 2022 FIFA World Cup by Urs Siegenthaler. The football professional logged his time, thoughts, and everything in-between during the World Cup in Qatar. He recorded his impressions, personal analyzes, thoughts and pictures of all games in the digital chronicle of the watch. Only the special few who own this watch will receive access to this unique diary.
Final amount: The couple's birth years
In order to celebrate the end of the auction, we met on February 16th, 2023 at the Club de Bâle in Basel. The last bids were made shortly before the end.
The piece of jewelry on Urs Siegenthaler's wrist was auctioned off that evening by a watch enthusiast and football fan. He won the auction with a final bid of CHF 8,277. This figure is no coincidence, but a deliberately chosen one: it is made up of the birth year of the lucky winner and that of his wife’s.
A total of 49 bids were received for the watch. In the end, however, it can only belong to one person. The new owner of the DBF007-10-04 will also receive access to Urs Siegenthaler's exclusive World Cup diary. Only the owner of this watch can read the digital chronicles with the entries. The end of the auction thus marks the beginning of a new chapter.
We have captured the emotions of this evening in pictures.
DBF007-10-04
A lot of personality ticks in this Swiss diver's watch. The DBF007-10-04 is linked to a blockchain and therefore also exists digitally. The blockchain stores all the information associated with the watch. This technology also allows you to store your own content (pictures, videos, service documents, etc.) there.
