DuBois et fils GM 2022: Impressions and Outlook
Just as Bruce Springsteen fought for his great love under the song title "Tougher than the rest", so we put our visions into practice — with just as much tenacity, heart, and soul. For this reason, this year's AGM of Switzerland's oldest watch factory was held under this motto.
Looking back on a special year
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, last year's General Meeting was held unusually in November 2021. Only half a year later, on June 11th, 2022, we met again: DuBois et fils invited shareholders to the General Meeting 2022 in Mariastein, to the "Village Garden". Nevertheless, there was plenty to talk about. In idyllic surroundings nestled close to nature, we looked back on the past year.
Attendees weren’t limited from the regions of Basel, Eastern Switzerland, Appenzell or Bern. One guest crossed borders by driving to us from Belgium while another shareholder honored us with a visit all the way from New York.
After coffee and croissants, Thomas Steinemann, CEO of DuBois et fils, led guests through the program. Employees and stakeholders took turns to talk about current projects and plans for the future.
Milestones in 2021
In the past year, we worked persistently on our new projects and were able to implement them as planned. These included:
- Foundation of the subsidiary "SwissValueCHain
- Launch of new website
- Sales launch of tokenized watch movements with link to Swiss Blockchain technology
- Chronicle to personal movements or own watch in customer profile
The founding of SwissValueCHain paved the way for us to enter the world of NFT and Blockchain and thus marks a new era in the watch industry. It is and remains a great concern for us to connect one of the oldest crafts in Switzerland with the latest technology.
In 2021, we also successfully expanded our watch collections. The DBF007 Diver Watch went on sale. Thanks to our social media channels, our awareness also increased online.
With a lot of momentum into 2022
We got off to a very successful start in the first quarter of 2022. This is demonstrated not only thanks to an increase in sales figures and happy buyers, but also by our significantly higher media presence and the possibility of new, promising collaborations.
In the coming months we will start with the production and sale of our new DBF008 watch. Here is to another extraordinary year ahead! One thing is already certain: we will remain true to ourselves and will continue to move forward with gusto.
