DuBois Takes a Step Into the Future

Review DBF-Token-Event

A glorious summer evening in the garden of DuBois et fils. Invited guests arrive, take a cool drink and sit down under the shady trees. What happens next goes down in the history of DuBois et fils as a caesura. On that evening, 21 July 2021, a new era begins for all of us.

«We have created something completely new – which did not exist before»

Thomas Steinemann, CEO DuBois et fils

And so it begins...

Original movements from the 1960s of A. Schild S.A. have slumbered in boxes as a hidden treasure until now. But on this evening, Switzerland's oldest watch factory is linking these time witnesses of watch history with the latest technology. An extraordinary innovation.

Thomas Steinemann, CEO of DuBois et fils, addresses the audience and presents the concept of tokenization.

Our explanation video shows how tokenization of historic watch movement works.

On a screen, the 330 watch movements that are for sale are depicted as tokens – genuine historical ties in the age of digitalization.

Who will be the first person to purchase an automatic movement "Caliber AS-1895" with a DBF token that evening?

The Tension Rises

Suddenly they are here, the newly "born" DBF-Tokens "Caliber AS 1895". They are now available for purchase in the online store.

This moment will be celebrated, enjoyed and used to get hold of such a piece ourselves. On this historic 21st of July 2021, this special step into the future will be taken together with all buyers.

«Anyone who owns a DBF token is now part of DuBois et fils»

Thomas Steinemann, CEO DuBois et fils

Participation and Experience

Anyone who purchases a historic Swiss movement "Caliber AS-1895" from DuBois et fils receives a token along with it. The token is the "digital twin" of the movement, is transferred with the purchase and is proof of ownership. The issuance of the tokens is handled via blockchain technology. This creates transparency, protects against counterfeiting and ensures that the origin of the watch movement can be traced even many years later.

Anyone who purchases a watch movement with a token also benefits from new experiences. The tokenization of watch movements makes it possible to experience the production process – from the movement into (one's own) watch – at first hand and to document the watch's further journey. The company makes values such as sustainability, transparency and trust a credible experience.

We are all extremely proud of the result and hope that you will also become part of this innovation, if you are not already.
