For these limited-edition watches, we are reviving traditional watchmaking craftsmanship. Every DBF008 model is manufactured in Switzerland, is of the highest quality and is fitted with a historic Swiss movement.
Luxury, quality and historical expertise
The past provides valuable insights into how new ideas can be realised to the highest standards of craftsmanship. This is particularly important when developing complex timepieces. For the DBF008, for example, we drew on historical knowledge and revived traditional techniques.

The cases in this collection are crafted using the finest traditional watchmaking techniques. Finished to the highest standard, it derives its distinctive character from the domed, box-shaped sapphire crystal. This creates a sense of spaciousness, framed by a delicate bezel that makes the watch appear particularly slim and graceful. The DBF008's movement lies directly beneath the domed, rounded crystal.

The lug attachments are another example of traditional craftsmanship being revived: the elements that connect the case to the watch strap are first polished and then soldered onto the satin-finished part of the case. The production team at DuBois et fils researched and revived one of the oldest techniques for joining case components to achieve this labour-intensive process. The lugs also add an elegant visual accent to the design.

Another distinctive feature is the bezel, which opens via a snap clasp.
Luxury, quality and historic craftsmanship are not mutually exclusive. In fact, it is precisely the combination of all these elements that defines the DBF008.
A beautiful crown featuring sophisticated technology
Here, what might seem like a minor detail becomes a real experience: The date is set by pressing a pusher integrated into the crown.
Press it once – and the date advances. What appears deceptively simple is technically sophisticated and was developed with a great deal of time, expertise and attention to detail.
Not only is the crown functional, it also makes operating the DBF008 surprisingly intuitive, and using it is a pleasure.
Swiss Design
Product and industrial designer Stephan Messmer was the creative mind and driving force behind the design of the DBF008. He created the watch’s distinctive look, combining its technical and aesthetic requirements to perfection. Every element was developed with great care, in close consultation with the case and dial manufacturers.
Stephan Messmer also designed the DBF006 and DBF007 models for DuBois et fils.
