Switzerland and Hollywood in one watch

With the DBF008-01, we combine the glittering world of Hollywood's international movie stars with genuine, solid Swiss craftsmanship. As a result, this watch embodies the maximum in uniqueness.

In the production of the DBF008, we ensure uncompromising craftsmanship - from start to finish. More "Swissness" and quality is simply hard to come by. However, before the assembly of the 33 DBF008-01 watches, the movements made an appearance in a Hollywood movie. Soon they will be flickering across the silver screen. You will receive information and reports about this upon purchase of the watch.

Instruction Manual DBF008

In the best hands

In the production of the DBF008, DuBois et fils relies on the knowledge of traditional craftsmanship. A look into the past makes it possible to develop the watch, in all its complexity, into a wonderful piece.

We leave our watches in the best hands not only for the design, but also for the production of the case and dial. All components of the DBF008 are made in Switzerland and each model is assembled by hand in a watch workshop in the Jura.

Turn and push function of the crown

The crown, for example, is a particularly complex element of the watch. It not only rounds off the image of the watch visually, but is also an irreplaceable technical component.

One of the highlights of the DBF008: The crown of the watch is equipped with a turn and push function at the same time.

Here you can find out exactly what that means and take a look at the inner workings of the crown:

That’s Hollywood!

Hollywood is a neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. Numerous film studios, production companies and acting and casting agencies are based there. As a result, the neighborhood is considered the center of the entertainment and film industry in the United States and the most important film metropolis in the world.

Hollywood history dates back to the married couple Harvey and Daeida Wilcox who bought a piece of property with apricot and fig trees in Southern California in the 19th century and began building a housing development there. In German, Hollywood is translated as "holly forest". California holly, a shrub with red berries, is quite common in the region.

Hollywood merged with Los Angeles in 1910. In 1911 the first film studio, the Nestor Company’ was established there. By 1915, the majority of American films were being produced in the Los Angeles area, and on May 16, 1929, the first Oscars were awarded.

From Daniel Craig to Elizabeth Tayler to DuBois et fils

Watches appear again and again in Hollywood films. They not only complement an outfit and have a specific function, but also have a decisive influence on the character of the wearer.

In Casino Royal in 2006, Daniel Craig as James Bond wore an Omega Seamaster Professional — as did Pierce Brosnan, who had already opted for a Seamaster with a blue dial in Golden Eye in 1995. In Top Gun in 1986, Tom Cruise drew attention to a black Porsche Design chronograph made by Orfina, a small specialist manufacturer in Grenchen. Many actresses, models and musicians have also helped shape certain brands. Elizabeth Taylor was given a curvaceous Bulgari Serpenti on the set of her famous 1962 film, Cleopatra, which she wore on her wrist from that time forward. Marlon Brando, in turn, appeared in the legendary film Apocalypse Now in 1979 wearing a Rolex GMT-Master, which fetched nearly $2 million at auction in 2019.

A total of 33 examples of our 330 tokenized movements — all of which tick in a DBF008-01 — have been featured in a Hollywood short film. We keep information and reports in a personal chronicle for each watch. You will receive this with the purchase of a DBF008-01.
