Innovation with NFT in the DuBois et fils online store

Those who purchase a historical DuBois movement will automatically receive a DBF-token.

Every single one of these movements is linked to a DBF token; a virtual twin. Essentially: one physical movement = one digital token. Therefore, when you purchase a specific movement, you’ll automatically receive a virtual token. However, your personal copy will remain with DuBois et fils until it is installed in a new watch. We’ll take care of the proper storage, maintenance and insurance of the piece of jewelry.

Thanks to modern blockchain technology, the origin of the movement is transparently documented and you’re closely involved in every step forward. Your movement and DBF tokens are promised added value during production - in which you’re certainly made part of.

At any given time, there are only a limited number of movements available. Don’t miss this unique opportunity and be there when Swiss watch history is written.

Switzerland's oldest watch factory relies on blockchain

Since the summer of 2021, DuBois et fils is reviving this watchmaking craftsmanship – so deeply rooted in Switzerland – and leading it into the future in a special campaign: At DuBois et fils, purchasing a watch starts with choosing a tokenized movement. Those who purchase one of these limited edition Swiss automatic movements will decide in which watch it will be installed at a later date. Token owners can later choose to purchase a watch with their movement. For this purpose, the purchase price of the token is deducted with a discount. If the token owner releases the movement for sale, they receive a remuneration of 2.5 times the amount invested.

DuBois et fils has already sold several hundred tokenized movements to date. A new subsidiary, SwissValueCHAin GmbH (SVCH), was founded to develop the technology.

The blockchain is not only intended for documentation and participation in the value chain or to protect against counterfeiting of watches. This model – a digital, forgery-proof token – is an ideal opportunity for products of value to be able to perpetuate authenticity and genuineness over generations.

The step into the new field of this technology and the development of a specific blockchain application enables DuBois et fils to credibly bring values such as sustainability and historical ties to life in the age of digitalization.
