SubscribeThe historic Felsa 4017 hand-wound movement, dating from 1962, showcases traditional Swiss watchmaking craftsmanship and timeless technology.
With a central seconds hand and date display, this original calibre hails from the renowned Felsa manufacture in Grenchen. The workshop's innovations, spearheaded by engineer Friedrich Meyer, have had a lasting impact on the modern wristwatch.
The movement is limited to 88 pieces and will in future tick away in the DBF011 – our anniversary watch marking 275 years of watchmaking by DuBois et fils.
A particular highlight of this movement is its hand-blued screws. This traditional technique is used in classical watchmaking to heat the screws to around 300 °C with precision, achieving their characteristic deep blue colour.
Today, only a handful of watchmakers still possess the skills required for this intricate craft. At the DuBois et fils workshop, this historic technique is being deliberately revived: each screw is carefully blued by hand by our watchmaker, lending the movement its unique, traditional character.
Since summer 2021, DuBois et fils has been launching tokenised movements.
