The DBF010-01 was unveiled exclusively to DuBois et fils shareholders and sold out immediately. This level of interest shows just how popular watches with an authentic history are today.
Inside the watch is the original vintage automatic movement, the Record 1959-2 calibre, from the Record Watch Co. SA, dating from the 1970s.
Each of the eleven watches has its own number. But that's not the only thing that makes them unique: thanks to interchangeable case elements, each watch can be given its own individual look.
Philippe Girard, designer of the DBF010, says: "I was drawn to the idea of designing a watch that leaves room for one’s own style. Thanks to the interchangeable elements, the DBF010 can be transformed without losing its identity. The historic movement remains at its heart.”
The bezel and side panels of the DBF010 can be interchanged and combined to suit individual tastes. The DBF010-01 comes with orange, black and rose gold variants included in the package.
Customisation can be carried out in our workshop or at an authorised specialist retailer.
The watch was developed around the historic 1959 Record calibre. Its proportions, movement and history set the direction for the DBF010 right from the outset. The case reflects the movement's robustness whilst drawing inspiration from 1970s design aesthetics.
"For us, the Record 1959-2 calibre was the heart and starting point of the watch. It continues to shape its character to this day,' says Philippe Girard, the DBF010's designer.
The result is a watch whose design has evolved from within.
