Ivan Rakitic im Barcelona-Trikot

NFT diary by Ivan Rakitić

Football star Ivan Rakitić, who grew up in the Basel region, looks back on his impressive football career in collaboration with DuBois et fils, Switzerland's oldest watchmaker. The result is a very special project: a personal, richly illustrated autobiography exclusively linked to a unique watch model.

Champions League and childhood dreams – Rakitić tells his story

In some 30 chapters, Rakitić looks back on his early days in football, his breakthrough on the big stage at Basel's Joggeli stadium and his journey through Germany, Spain, Saudi Arabia and his native Croatia. There is a particular focus on his time in Spain, where he enjoyed unforgettable success with FC Sevilla and later FC Barcelona. At Barcelona, Rakitic played alongside the likes of Lionel Messi, Andres Iniesta and Neymar, and will go down in history as an integral part of one of the greatest teams of all time. His goal in the 2015 Champions League final, Barcelona's most recent triumph in Europe's premier club competition, remains unforgettable. His Croatian international career is also part of his biography. Rakitić made over 100 appearances for Croatia, with the emotional highlight coming in the 2018 World Cup final against France. In his autobiography, he candidly describes the difficult decision he had to make between the Swiss and Croatian national teams, as well as his pride in being part of a golden generation.

„The hunger doesn't go away once you've won something. When you have the chance to win the European Super Cup, the Spanish Super Cup and the Club World Cup, you want to win even more.“

Uniquely secure

This autobiography is something special: it is exclusively secured digitally on a blockchain and permanently linked to a sold-out limited edition diving watch DBF007-07 by DuBois et fils. Only the owner of this watch will have access to its biography – a combination of contemporary history, technology and craftsmanship.

The watch with the exclusive Ivan Rakitić biography will be auctioned on the DuBois et fils website in the summer of 2025. The date of the auction will be announced in due course.
