A Dial Reborn
The original guilloché dark blue dial has been replaced with an exquisite mother-of-pearl dial, transforming the watch’s aesthetic character. The DBF001 dial architecture remains elaborately constructed across three distinct levels, creating depth and visual dynamism.
Each individual numeral is meticulously hand-applied, underscoring the artisanal nature of this piece. The prominent big date display — composed of two separate date discs — ensures superior legibility while highlighting the mechanical sophistication beneath the surface.
Chronograph Excellence with Big Date Complication
This DBF001-09-90 is a chronograph equipped with a Dubois-Dépraz Big Date module, delivering precision time measurement alongside practical functionality. The integration of the complication reflects the expertise of Dubois-Dépraz, the renowned complication specialist founded in 1902 in Le Lieu, located in the prestigious Vallée de Joux. Dubois-Dépraz has long been synonymous with high-grade complications.
A Case of Architectural Complexity
The case has been newly plated in red gold, lending the watch a warm and distinguished presence on the wrist. Its construction is technically ambitious: the housing consists of five individual components, each precisely screwed together. This complex assembly allows for exceptional finishing, with alternating polished and satin-brushed surfaces executed to the highest standards.
On the reverse side, a signature detail sets this watch apart. The screws on the case back are shaped to echo the brand’s emblem, the fir tree, an unmistakable hallmark of DuBois et fils craftsmanship and attention to detail.
