Zusammenbau Rückseite DBF008

With magnifying glass and tweezers to DBF008

Robots have long been capable of making watches - quickly and efficiently. But the traditional craftsmanship of watchmakers remains very important in today's high-tech world.

Our DBF008 watches are equipped with movements dating back to the 1960s. Back then, they could not be manufactured with the precision we have today, making it impossible to assemble them using computers. Making watches with historic movements is therefore a task that can only be accomplished by experienced, skilful and calm hands.

The requirements for working with historic movements are extremely high. It's an art that combines tradition and craftsmanship, and demands great precision from watchmakers.

We visited our watchmaker in his workshop to witness the manufacture of the latest DBF008 models.

A look into the watchmaking studio

A watch is created step by step from numerous small individual parts. What tools and skills are needed in this process? A look into the watchmaking studio shows:

  • One of the most basic tools is magnifying glasses. With these magnifying glasses, the watchmaker can see fine details on the movements and dials that would not be visible to the naked eye. This precision is critical to the quality of the watch.
  • Fine tweezers are another essential tool in the watchmaker's workshop. They allow the watchmaker to safely handle tiny parts such as spring pins and screws.
  • Special screwdrivers with fine tips are another important part of the watchmaker's arsenal. They can be used to loosen and retighten screws on watch movements. reattach them. The tools ensure that all parts of the watch are correctly assembled.
  • Files of various shapes and sizes are used to shape and smooth metal parts. These tools allow the watchmaker to shape the aesthetic and functional aspects of the watch.
