With the 'Grande Tonneau', a watch from the 2000s, DuBois pays homage to the famous 'Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs' design exhibition held in Paris in 1925.
The artistic style of the time, shaped by the trends of the era, would later become world-famous as “Art Deco”. Wristwatches of that era were also subject to fashion trends, and watch brands quickly adapted to changing demands. This led to the creation of the tonneau shape, among other things.
The tonneau design's enormous success is attributed to the fact that, despite its unusual and striking shape, it retained a harmonious connection to the traditional round watch.
This document from the 2000s was used to sell this DuBois et fils Tonneau watch.
